Hello All! I am currently a grad student pursuing my M.Ed-TESOL at Post University because I love everything about teaching English as a Second Language, and I want to know as much as I possibly can so I can be the best ESL teacher that I can be. Since I am passionate about ESL, I figured why not jump in with both feet? One of my favorite things about TESL I learned was my interactions with different cultures. I have to say that I have learned as much from my students as they have learned from me. They have challenged many of my previous thoughts and assumptions and have truly helped me grow not only as a person, but as a professional. I always knew I wanted to live a life of adventure with lots of traveling; but, I never knew what career path I was going to choose that would feed my hunger for world travel. After helping some international friends with their English homework, I began volunteering as an ESL tutor. It was then I realized how much I loved what I was doing, and I finally found a career path that I loved and that would allow for my dreams to travel the world.

Reading Lolita in Tehran was an incredibly gripping novel that took me to a place that was hard for me to imagine being so pettily oppressive, especially for an American woman like myself living in a society that celebrates sexuality, rather than inhibiting it. Through Nafisi’s memoir, I was both inspired by the slight rebellious … More Reading Lolita in Tehran
