“Nonsense is far more powerful than sense, mainly because it can take any meaning, thus leaving a window open for imagination to sneak in…nonsense has the power to provide solutions to problems that according to logic may be deemed unsolvable”

–Dimitris Grammenos, 2014

I would like to welcome you all to my Personal Learning Environment (PLE) page and thank you for your visit! I am currently attending Post University’s M.Ed-TESOL program because I wanted to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to not only effectively teach English as a second language, but also to be able to design, implement, and evaluate ESL curricula.

In this PLE, I will be posting research and ideas relevant to TESOL that are aimed at applying the principles of teaching and learning to improve the practice of teaching ESL and the design and delivery of instruction to a diverse population of learners in a variety of settings. The use of current and relevant technology in the service of improved learning and an emphasis on creativity and innovation in education will also be discussed.

Above all, this PLE will be focused on the development of needs-based, quality ESL curriculum and appropriate assessment measures using the theories of second language acquisition to best promote second language proficiency in today’s digital society.
